On Sept. 12th, Buena hosted the Powderpuff game on the football field; Juniors wore blue while Seniors came dressed in black. The game ended with a win for the Junior team after a 6 year loss to the Senior team.  Enthusiasm from spectators and players was bursting throughout the entire field. “ It was the greatest feeling ever,” Junior Patricia Garcia exclaimed. “Every year everyone expects the seniors to win so it was cool that we beat the odds,” she went on to say. We all worked super hard to learn plays and learn the game, so taking the dub made it all worth it!”

Considering Powderpuff has only one game a year, some girls were slightly disappointed, including Junior, Anna Magna. “I wish it lasted longer or it was an actual sport like ‘Girls football.” Though, after the great win, 18-6, the players and a few from the stands had the opportunity to indulge on some delicious pizza!  All of the Powderpuff ladies showed great school spirit and sportsmanship. Each and everyone of them played like a true team and more so, had fun.
